Legacy Giving

Help the alopecia areata community now and for years to come

Name NAAF in Your Will

You can help support alopecia research, support, and awareness by directing a gift to NAAF through your will or trust. You may designate the gift as unrestricted (used where NAAF needs most) or restricted (used to fund specific programs). These gifts, commonly called bequests, are deductible from your gross estate, can offer tax estate savings, and have no maximum amount.

Please contact Robbie Baker at (415) 851-8966 if you are considering a bequest so we can assist in the planning process.

If NAFF is already named as a beneficiary in your will or trust, please let us know so that we can celebrate and recognize you for your generosity now.

Other Ways to Leverage Your Assets to Support NAAF

NAAF staff are available to support you in the planning and execution of creative asset gifts. Contact Robbie Baker at (415) 851-8966. so we can make the process as easy as possible for you.

Life Insurance

You may name NAAF as a beneficiary of all or a portion of your life insurance policy proceeds. To do so, update your beneficiary designation through your insurance company. This can often be easily done online.

Alternatively, you may transfer ownership of a paid-up life insurance policy to NAAF now. Those supporting NAAF in this way can receive an income tax deduction for the donation of a paid-up life insurance policy and estate tax savings after your passing.

Real Estate

Real estate donations are also gratefully accepted by NAAF. If you own property, you may deed it to the organization. In exchange, you would receive an income tax deduction for the fair market value of the real estate, with no capital gains tax paid on your part.

Retirement Plans

When organizing your retirement plans, you can name NAAF as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), or other retirement plan. If your family’s needs change over time, you can change beneficiaries, and your family avoids the potential double taxation on the assets left in retirement accounts.

Plan administrators may not notify NAAF, so please alert NAAF staff if you’ve made this generous designation.

Donations to NAAF help support alopecia areata research and education. NAAF accepts online donations and checks. You can also send wire transfers to NAAF.
